Sriwilai Accounting - Work Permit Management
In Thailand, work permits are official authorizations issued by the Ministry of Labor, allowing foreign nationals to work legally in the country. Any foreigner wishing to work in Thailand must secure a valid work permit. To obtain one, both the employee and the sponsoring company must meet specific requirements and comply with Thai labor laws.
Sriwilai Accounting assists with the entire process—ensuring accurate documentation, smooth application, and full legal compliance.

Who Needs a Work Permit?
Foreigners Working in Thailand:
Any foreigner who plans to engage in paid employment or business activities in Thailand requires a work permit, even if they hold a valid visa.
This applies to employees, business owners, and freelancers working for Thai companies or as self-employed individuals.
Foreigners with Non-Immigrant Visas:
Non-Immigrant “B” visas are typically required for work purposes.
If you have a Non-Immigrant “O” or “ED” visa, it must be converted to a Non-Immigrant “B” visa to apply for a work permit.
Business Owners and Investors:
Foreign nationals who establish businesses in Thailand, even as company directors or shareholders, need a work permit if they actively manage operations.
Foreign Teachers:
Teachers working in schools, universities, or language centers require a work permit.
Special requirements apply for teaching English, including a relevant degree and TEFL/TESOL certification.
Digital Nomads & Freelancers:
Although Thailand recently introduced the “Digital Nomad Visa,” individuals who work for foreign companies remotely may still require a work permit depending on their activities.
